WELCOME

Welcome to the brand-new website of the Charles County Arts Alliance!  We are glad you’re here, and we hope you find our “new look” attractive, inviting, interesting, informative and easy to navigate.  We welcome your feedback – just click on the “contact us” button above, and send us your thoughts!

The Charles County Arts Alliance was founded in 1987 as an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting ALL the arts in Charles County:

  • Music
  • Visual Art
  • Drama
  • Dance
  • Literature

We are a membership organization with currently over 160 members, including 20 arts organizations.  We invite you to become a member – all are welcome!  The Charles County Arts Alliance is an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization and as such, all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

We are the designated arts council of Charles County, and serve as the “arts umbrella” organization for our arts community:  arts organizations, arts educators, individual artists, and patrons of the arts.  Over the past 27 years, we have awarded over $550,000 in grant funding to deserving nonprofit organizations and the schools to support their cultural programs, projects and performances.  For the past 22 years, we have sponsored Charles County’s largest annual arts festival, ArtsFest.  We award annual $1000 Arts Scholarships to graduates of our county high schools and the College of Southern Maryland.  We showcase our very talented visual artists in three public gallery venues.  We produce and present many other arts-related public programs, events and activities throughout the year.  We constantly promote upcoming local arts events via our weekly Arts Newsflash blasts, our monthly Arts Insider e-newsletters, press releases, etc.

Please join us as we seek to improve the overall quality of life in Charles County, and implement our long-term strategic plan for the arts, Arts Vision 2020.
